The T3/T04E hybrid turbocharger by Garrett is one of the quickest spooling, highest flowing, and one of the most durable turbochargers on the market. This turbocharger is only designed to be used on after market performance applications and therefore does not have a discharge opening for an internal wastegate. With no discharge opening there is less turbulence causing the turbo to spool much faster than conventional turbochargers.
These units are great choice for 1.8L-2.4L four-cylinder single turbo setups. These turbos come only oil cooled, utilize a "standard" T3 flange, and must be used with an external wastegate.
